Who We Are.
LEARN. LINK. LEVERAGE. LEAD
Welcome to the South Carolina Clinical & Translation Research Center for Community Health Partnerships (SCTR/CCHP). SCTR/CCHP exists to lead an innovative, system-wide effort to strengthen capacity for collaborative research relationships among academic investigators and community members, community-based clinicians, and local health care organizations.
It is dedicated to engaging community members and academic partners in all aspects of the research process to promote health, reduce the risk of illness and disease, and build community resilience to help transform health care and eliminate health disparities. (Click for PDF flyer). Our center has four primary aims:
- -To LEARN from our community and academic partners
- -To LINK people, information, resources, and networks
- -To LEVERAGE capacity for community-university partnerships to conduct community-engaged research
- -To LEAD best practices for engaging community participation in research and dissemination of research results and findings
In September 2011, the South Carolina Clinical & Translation Research Institute (SCTR) – Community Engagement Program merged with the Center for Community Health Partnerships (CCHP) to create the South Carolina Clinical & Translation Research Center for Community Health Partnerships (SCTR/CCHP). As both entities had similar vision and goals for community engagement and community-engaged research, this union aimed to foster an even broader vision, build resources and enhance support for community engaged research, resulting in greater health impact for our communities.
