Society Of Clinical Research And Translational Early Scientists (SOCRATES) & B&BS Club
SOCRATES was created to enhance mentoring of junior investigators across the MUSC campus. The members of this society consist of graduates of the MSCR program who are on faculty at MUSC, faculty currently enrolled in the MSCR program, current and previous K awardees, and current and previous VA career development grant awardees.
The B&BS Club has traditionally offered the same opportunity for junior faculty, but has geared itself toward basic scientist.
Their efforts have been commbined to collaborate their strengths and give investigators unique perspectives to their research and a wide range of feedback.
A forum for junior faculty to present their research projects in front of their peers, members of MUSC's Mentor Leadership Counsel, Mentoring Champions, and statisticians & epidemiologists who are part of SCTR Biostatistics & Ethics Program. This will provide constructive feedback for improving and enhancing research studies and grant proposals.
Opportunities for meeting researchers in other departments, which can lead to collaboration across multiple specialties at MUSC.
A forum for discussing ways to enhance clinical and translational research across the campus.
Skills to help junior faculty to become the next generation of mentors at MUSC.
Meeting are the first & third Wednesday of each month in room 201 of the Bioengineering Building. To schedule a time to present or to get on the email list for reminders & announcements contact Dr. Halushka.
